GroupLogic Product Compatibility with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

We have tested the public release of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and have updated our products for compatibility with this latest Mac OS release.

activEcho: The Mac activEcho client is fully compatibile with Mac OS X 10.7.

ArchiveConnect: Users of Mac OS X 10.7 will need to upgrade to the ArchiveConnect 1.2.1 or later Mac client software for Lion compatibility.

ExtremeZ-IP: Users of Mac OS X 10.7 will need to upgrade to ExtremeZ-IP 7.2 or later. ExtremeZ-IP 7.2 addresses all known issues with Lion, except for DFS-based home directory support.

If you require support for network home directories that reside in DFS namespaces, we recommend you do not move to Lion yet. Support for DFS home directories on Lion is in progress, but will require an upgrade to a later update release of ExtremeZ-IP and/or Mac OS 10.7.

MassTransit: If you have Web Client users on Mac OS 10.7 Lion and/or using Safari 5.1, you will need to upgrade your MassTransit Server and their Web Clients to version 7.2.4 or later.

Please note that as previously announced, MassTransit Server 6.0.2×28 is expected to be the last server version that runs on Mac OS X and we will not be testing it or updating it for 10.7 compatibility. The migration path for MassTransit Server is to upgrade to MassTransit 7.x on Windows 2003 or 2008.

ShadowConnect: Users of ShadowConnect will need to upgrade to ExtremeZ-IP 7.2 for ShadowConnect compatibility with Lion. The existing ShadowConnect 1.0.2 Mac client software is compatible with Lion.

Group Logic product compatibility with Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

This article summarizes the compatibility status of Group Logic’s products on Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

ArchiveConnect

AFP-based Servers: ExtremeZ-IP 7.0 or later is supported on Windows 7 for use with ArchiveConnect (see below).

SMB-based Servers: Windows 7 has not yet been certified for compatibility with ArchiveConnect, but there are no known issues. Windows 2000, 2003, 2008, XP and Vista are supported.

Client: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is supported as of ArchiveConnect 1.0.2. Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 or later or Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 are also supported.

ExtremeZ-IP

Server: Windows 7 is supported by ExtremeZ-IP 7.0 or later.

Client: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is fully supported as of ExtremeZ-IP 6.0.2 with the exception of the following issue:

  • The ExtremeZ-IP Print Accounting Dialog is not available in 64-bit Applications.┬áThe Printer Dialog Extension (PDE) only works on Snow Leopard with 32-bit apps. For now only the Apple built-in apps are 64-bit and even those can be made to run 32-bit mode using a checkbox in the Get Info window.

MassTransit

Server: Windows 2003 and 2008 are supported. Windows 7 is not supported.

Windows Web Client: Windows 7 is supported when using the MassTransit 6.1 or later web client.

Mac Web Client: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is fully supported with the MassTransit 6.1 web client and later. The 6.0.2 web client can be used on 10.6 but you must have Rosetta installed and will also need to run Safari in 32-bit mode.

Hi, welcome to the new Group Logic Support site. We’ve been making a number of changes that we hope you’ll find useful.

Here are some highlights of the new site:

  • Product landing pages: MassTransit, ExtremeZ-IP, and ArchiveConnect, our latest product, each have their own dedicated Support page now. You can refer to these for the latest information on the products.
  • Blogs: We’ve added a blog section for each product. We’ll use blogs to share news and tips. If you have ideas for things you’d like to see covered in the blogs, please let us know.
  • Improved Request Form: We’ve improved the Support request form to request more specific information that will help us solve your problem more quickly. You can also attach files up to 5MB to the request form.
  • Improved Knowledge Base: You should find that Knowledge Base searches will give you better and more complete results. Articles also have a star rating system so you can see how helpful other users found the article or rate it yourself. As before, if you have specific feedback you’d like to send us about a Knowledge Base article, please let us know.
