How to configure ExtremeZ-IP to use a specific IP address on servers with multiple IP addresses

Instructions to configure ExtremeZ-IP to use a specific IP for servers with multiple IPs / NIC cards.

Description:

For ExtremeZ-IP version 4 and higher:

To specify the IP address ExtremeZ-IP 4 is to use:
– Open registry editor: Start > Run > Regedt32
– Navigate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > CurrentControlSet > Services > ExtremeZ-IP > Parameters4 > NonRefreshable
– Create a Multi String (REG_MULTI_SZ) value called “IPAddress”
– The value should be the IP address you want ExtremeZ-IP to use. example: 209.196.183.38
– Restart ExtremeZ-IP from the Services Control Panel.

This will force ExtremeZ-IP 4 to connect using this IP only.

For ExtremeZ-IP version 3:

To specify the IP address ExtremeZ-IP 3 is to use:
– Open registry editor: Start > Run > Regedt32
– Navigate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > CurrentControlSet > Services > ExtremeZ-IP > Parameters
– Create a Multi String (REG_MULTI_SZ) value called “IPAddresses”
– The value should be the IP address you want ExtremeZ-IP to use. example: 209.196.183.38
– Restart ExtremeZ-IP from the Services Control Panel.

This will force ExtremeZ-IP 3 to connect using this IP only.

Note: On an active/active cluster ExtremeZ-IP will use the IP address listed in its cluster group.
