Summary:

Macintosh clients appear to disconnect from mounted volumes at random intervals.

Description:

When certain Mac OS 9 applications were used while connections were maintained with AFP-over-IP shared volumes, disconnections from those volumes may occur.

This issue has been identified as a problem with earlier versions of the Apple Ethernet driver that had shipped with MacOS 9.2.1. Specifically, any Macintosh configured with Apple Ethernet Driver versions 2.4.1 and 2.4.2 may experience such disconnections.

As a result, users experiencing this problem are advised to apply the Apple Ethernet Update version 2.0. This update consists of Apple Ethernet Driver version 2.4.3, which has been released from Apple to resolve such issues.
