Question:

Why are Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) Macs unable to automatically mount ExtremeZ-IP volumes?

Answer:

This problem only happens when you enter the full path to the share when you try to connect. If the correct case is not used, you will get a “Mount failed” error. When 10.4.x clients log into an Apple File Protocol (AFP) file server using Tiger’s “Connect to Server” command in the Go menu or using an AppleScript, the path (afp://server_name/share_name) must match the actual case of the shared volume.

Note: URLs have always been defined to be case sensitive. Prior to Mac OS 10.4, AppleShare clients were not enforcing this behavior.
