Question:

How can I install the MassTransit 6.1 Web Client on Windows Vista without administrative privileges?

Answer:

Installation of the MassTransit 6.1 Web Client on Windows Vista by users without administrative privileges requires the following:

  • User Account Control must be turned on
  • An administrator’s password must be entered

If User Account Control (UAC) is turned ON, a message will appear stating: “To continue, type an administrator password, and then click OK.” You will need to type an administrator’s password or contact your system administrator to enter the password in order to proceed with the installation. After the Web Client is installed, users without administrative privileges on this machine can successfully use it to transfer files.

Note: Installation of the MassTransit 6.1 Web Client on Windows Vista by users without administrative privileges is not possible when User Account Control (UAC) is turned OFF. If you attempt to run the installer, a message will appear stating: “This installer requires administrator privileges.” In this case, you cannot proceed any further. You will have to contact your system administrator to execute the installation. After the Web Client is installed by the administrator, users without administrative privileges on this machine can successfully use it to transfer files.
